Happy holidays everyone! It is hard to believe another year is almost over!

2011 flew by and was an eventful year for Burrard-Lucas Photography. For me there were some truly memorable and humbling experiences such as coming face to face with a wild giant panda in China and being confronted by the legendary Komodo dragon in Indonesia. We are giving a talk at the London Wetland Centre on Sunday, 30th May 2010 at 12pm. If you are free and don’t live too far away then we would love to see you there!

We will be talking about our recent trip to the Falkland Islands and illustrating the presentation with lots and lots of photographs! We will reveal how we took some of our favourite pictures and tell you a bit about the animals themselves. There will be some time at the end for us to answer any questions you might have. The talk is free once you have paid admission to the Wetland Centre (admission prices can be found here). We are excited to announce that a brand new version of Burrard-Lucas.com is now up and running!

On the surface the website hasn’t changed much but under the hood it has been completely rebuilt and there are a number of additional new features. We have also updated the galleries with our most recent work and added many new images which have never before been displayed online. We are still working hard to add new photos and caption / tag all of the existing images so please bear with us. In the meantime, here are some of the new features to look out for…

New ways to browse photos

• Portfolio – A selection of our favourite images from around the world.
• Galleries – Brand new wildlife and travel photo galleries.
• Photo explorer – Browse photographs based on their keyword tags.

Lightboxes – Easily and quickly create your own collection of Burrard-Lucas images. You can then save your lightbox for later viewing or email it to friends.

Share links – Easily share photographs with your friends via email or through your favourite social network.

Lights on/off mode – Turn the lights off to view pictures on a nice black background!

Slideshows – Lookout for the slideshow link… click on it, sit back and enjoy the show!

If you are flying out of Heathrow Terminal 4 in the next six months then make sure you check out our new photo exhibition situated near gates 7 to 9! On display are some of our favourite wildlife photographs from around the world.

To coincide with the exhibition we have launched a brand new website: WildExhibition.com. On the site you can find out more about the exhibition and see all of the featured photographs. You can also check out our new series of limited edition prints, our 2010 calendar and greeting cards featuring photos from the exhibition.

We visited Heathrow Airport last night to view the exhibition for the first time… it was wonderful to see our images printed large and it was nice to observe other people looking at our work. You can view our exclusive behind the scenes pictures from the exhibition on our facebook fan page.
